A few weeks ago I was invited to a Build-a-Bear cele-bear-ation birthday. (Get it?) Prior to this exciting event, an idea POpped into my head, and I figured that I could create my blog mascot there.
PRESENTING...
THE ONE AND ONLY...
Angel Face!
She loves hanging out with her best buds and always finds the time to practice karate, swimming, (well, rather basking in the sun), piano, karaoke singing, swinging on the trees, and, of course, roller skating. Many of these activities are in the Animoto slideshow below.
PRESENTING...
THE ONE AND ONLY...
Angel Face!
| Angel Face is a lovable little monkey that is a 4 time world champion in karate. Keeyah! (Karate shout!) |
I hope you enjoyed Angel Face's slideshow!
Please tune in to read some of Angel Face's perfect posts that will be posted pretty soon!
Blog owners, do you have a blog mascot?
For anyone else, if you had a blog, who would be your blog mascot? Why?
Have you ever created a stuffed animal at the Build-a-Bear Workshop? What was it?
Hello Adia!
ReplyDeleteMy name is Bailey and I'm one of Dr. Strange's students in EDM310. I love your slideshow about Angel Face! She's really cute and I'm impressed with her hobbies. I took karate for one semester and it was really fun. I wish I could say that I was as good as Angel Face, though, but no World Championships for me.
As of this moment, my blog doesn't have a mascot, but you've inspired me to find one. I did make a stuffed animal at Build-a-Bear though! His name is Tristan and he's a tiger.
Tristan loves to snuggle and he always protects my bed when I'm away from my room. He's kind of shy, but once he makes a friend, he can be very talkative. I think I'm going to make Tristan my blog mascot. He's so cute.
Great post! Keep up the great blogging work!
-Bailey
Adia,
ReplyDeleteHey there! My name is Brittany Hamilton and I am a student at the University of South Alabama. I am going to school to be a teacher and got assigned to your blog.
I love the idea of having a mascot for my blog. I would have never thought of it but now I am trying to figure out what would be a good mascot for mine. I am thinking about my favorite stuffed animal- Freddie the frog. I will be decorating my classroom in a tropical rain forest theme so this would work out perfectly.
I love Angel Face! The fact that she practices karate, sings, plays the piano, etc. is so awesome. I loved watching the video about her. It was so cute and it made me laugh a couple of times. I have never created a Build-a-Bear but I have always wanted to! I think I will try to do that this summer.
Thanks for your wonderful post and continue to keep up the good work!
Dear Adia,
ReplyDeleteI ♥ed getting a chance to meet Angel Face! What a cutie! I am quite impressed with all of the skills that Angel Face has acquired! I'm curious, how old is she? (Hmmm...she reminds me of a student in my current class. Now who is that?)
:-)
Yes, I have a blog and of course the blog has a mascot! Panda! He is twenty-four years old and has been with me since I started teaching! Panda enjoys helping others learn, eating bamboo, and pole vaulting.
Yes, I also have been to Build-a-Bear. In fact, you may have seen little Sweet Pea on our Yollis' 365 Project. Currently, Sweet Pea is up in the attic, but if you read the comment section you will find out that it is pretty exciting up in the attic!
2 : Boxed! Sweet Pea's the one in the Santa suit!
Terrific work!
Your proud teacher,
Mrs. Y♥llis
Aloha Adia,
ReplyDeleteAngel Face is a real cutie and she is so talented! I used to play the piano but since she obviously has lessons she probably plays better.
Currently I am too busy to blog since my job is to help teachers at our school and sometimes teach classes which means no blog mascot.
However, when I was a classroom teacher we had a class pet. It was a beautiful dog named Brandy. She would visit with all of my students and whisper things to write in their ears.
Your Animoto was so well done. It really helped everyone get to know Angel Face even better.
Great writing!
Mrs. Jacobs
Hi Adia
ReplyDeleteI love the idea of a blog mascot- Angel face is cute! Our class has a mascot(SEB) but we do not have one for our blog. Our class mascot is taken home by every member of the class - including the teachers and spends some days with them. Their adventures are recorded in a class book. When Seb stayed with me I put his adventures on our blog. You can have a look if you like (Sebastian sees red) and write a comment while you are there!
Hi Adia,
ReplyDeleteI loooove your mascot. She is so cute. She reminds me so much of my little niece. Coincidently Angel Face has the exact same hobbies as my niece. I don’t know about Angel Face, but my niece is caring, compassionate, intelligent, and best of all a great kid.
Good luck with your mascot and looking forward to reading about Angel Face’s adventures.
Love you always,
Juliet
Dear Adia,
ReplyDeleteMy name is Kim Holland and I am a student at the University of South Alabama and I was assigned to your blog as a part of Dr.Strange's EDM 310 class. No I do not have a blog mascot ,but that is very creative idea. I have made a stuffed animal at Build-a Bear many years ago. It was a bear and it had a cheerleading outfit. You did a great job on your presentation about Keeyah. I cannot wait to see Keeyah's post. Great post Adia!
Keeyah!to you!!! What a great mascot and a terrific name...Angel Face.
ReplyDeleteI'm Mrs. Ratzel and I blog with my 6th graders. We have a school mascot, but no mascot for our blog. Until I read your post, I had never thought about needing a blog mascot. Tomorrow I will share your post with my class....they will love your video...and see what they think.
In the meantime, our school mascot is an eagle. Not nearly as cuddy and cute as Angel Face...and not something I believe we could make at Build-A-Bear.
Thanks for sharing.
Mrs. R
http://lmsblogs.org
Dear Adia,
ReplyDeleteWow, you've got quite the talented mascot! Our blog mascots, Juan Pablo and Perezoso aren't nearly as busy as Angel Face. Juan Pablo likes to climb trees, eat flies, and read. And Perezoso,... well all he really does is sleep.
I look forward to keeping up to date with Angel Face's adventures. I'll bet she can do some pretty cool tricks when she is roller skating.
Since she is a four time karate champion she probably has lots of fans. Juan Pablo is kind of famous (or at least he thinks he is), so if Angel face has any questions about how to deal with hundreds of fans he might be able to give her some advice.
From,
Mr. Salsich
Dear Adia,
ReplyDeleteYet another wonderful post that you've written! I love that your blog has its own mascot!
I think Angel Face represents your blog very well. We don't have a mascot for our class blog but we might just have to get one. I wonder what we should choose.
Keep up the great work! I look forward to hearing more about Angel Face monkeying around!
Sincerely,
Mr. Avery

Dear Adia,
ReplyDeleteYour monkey is so cute!
I do not have a mascot but I have a stuff animal from Build-a-bear work shop. My stuffed animal is a girl, and its a bear. Her name is Natasha. She likes to swim, bike, and do karate.
I hope you do more blog posts on your blog mascot!
From,
Nicole
Hi Adia, My name is Rachael and I go to the University of South Alabama, where I am in Dr. Strange's EDM310 class. I love your monkey! She is so cute and can do very many things!
ReplyDeleteI do not have a blog mascot, I've actually never thought of that. I have also never built a bear at a workshop, although I've wanted too. I bet its fun.
I do have a bear named Bear( I know, not creative). He is pretty good at always being there when I need someone to talk to or hold! So I guess he will be the perfect mascot! Thanks for the idea! By the way, good job on the slideshow.
Thanks Rachael
Hello Adia!
ReplyDeleteMy name is Whitney and I am a student in Professor Strange's EDM310 class at The University of South Alabama.
I would like to start by saying that I thought you did an excellent job on your blog post and an exceptional job on your slideshow! It was very nice to meet Angel Face!
I do not have a blog mascot, and had never thought about it! Thank you for bringing the idea to my attention! I think I need to come up with one now! If I had a blog mascot it would be my dog Pax. He is an English Bulldog. I love him and just think he is adorable! I have never made a Build-A-Bear, but I do have a little girl that has made one before. We had so much fun making her bear and registering her. She named her Sherbert because she looked like lime, raspberry, and orange sherbet!
Thank you for sharing such an excellent post! Keep up the good work!
Sincerely,
Whitney
Hi Adia-
ReplyDeleteMy name is Christina and I am a student of the University of South Alabama in Dr. Strange's EDM310 class. Thank you for your comments on our class blog. They were very thoughtful and insightful. I really enjoyed reading your post.
I am so excited to comment on your blog because I really like all of the interesting, original things you have.
First, you have a voki. I listened to it and I am assuming it was your voice. That seems like a fun way to make a blog more personal. I would like to add one to my own blog.
Second, you have a blog mascot. Your mascot is not only cute, but very talented. I do not have a blog mascot, but I think it is a great idea! I can tell you are a very creative person. That is a special gift. It will help you a lot in the future. If I had a blog mascot, I would like it to be something that is strong, a hard worker and very determined. It may take a while for me to come up with something. If you have any more great ideas, let me know!
I have never been to a Build A Bear Workshop, but I think they look like great fun.
Have a great summer, Adia.
Christina
I checked into animoto.com and I am going to recommend this site to my son. He makes a lot of videos and
Dear Adia,
ReplyDeleteAngel Face is adorable! I really enjoyed the slideshow, I think you did a terrific job! Thank you for sharing all her hobbies and interests, sounds like she is really busy!
I'm doing a post about my blog mascot right now, and I will be finishing it soon!
I have been to Build-A-Bear Workshop many times, and I enjoy making the stuffed animals. My stuffed animals are Blackberry (a black colored bear), Pinkie (a bear that has pink polkadots), and Blueberry (a bear that has blue polkadots).
Your friend,
♓annah☮
Dear Adia
ReplyDeleteAngel Face is very cute - well done for making her!
Our class mascot is a little New Zealand bird called a kea. His name is Quicksilver, and he belongs to the parrot family.
Our mascot is a lot smaller than he would be in real life because later in the year I hope he will get to travel and visit other classes.
Quicksilver goes home with the B4 children for a night each, and they write about his adventures in his diary.
At the moment he has been at Tyla's house for a whole fortnight, because it is our school holidays. I wonder what he is up to?
Do you have a collection of soft toys at your house?
When my daughter was little she had a big Bugs Bunny toy and she would drag him on to the floor and sleep cuddled up to him! It was very cute.
from Mrs M♔Kenzie
@ Bailey Hammond,
ReplyDeleteThank you for your wonderful comment!
I think it is great that you used to take karate for a semester. I take karate, and I ♥ it! Karate teaches me discipline, self-confidence, respect, and to pay attention, so that's why I ♥ it.
In my opinion, I think you should consider Tristan the tiger as your blog mascot. That post would be a big hit!
I used to have this adorable stuffed animal lamb named Little Lamb, (like how it is in the song) and I took it everywhere I went. One day, when I was going to pack it in my suitcase for a vacation, it disappeared. My mom and I looked through every single speck of the house, and since then, we have not seen that precious lamb. Although, I have a feeling when I am older that while I am doing something around the house, I'll find Little Lamb. That would be good for a laugh or two. :)
Thanks again for your comment!
P.S: My favorite gospel singer's last name is Hammond like yours, Fred Hammond!
@ Brittany Hamilton,
What an amazing comment!
You should consider having a blog mascot, and I think Freddie the frog would be THE perfect one. I think that decorating your classroom in a tropical rain forest theme would work out perfectly! After all, Freddie is a frog! What would be Freddie's hobbies?
My family and I have watched the video so many times, that every time it is funnier and funnier! :)
I hope that you will consider Freddie for your blog mascot!
@ Mrs. Yollis,
Thank you for your wonderful, yet humorous, comment!
To answer your question, Angel Face is 8 1/2 years old and will turn 9 on September 12. She can't wait for her birthday! Angel Face is planning to get an iPad for her birthday, or maybe an iPod touch. (Really, that's what I would like for my own birthday. :)
Maybe someday Angel Face and Panda can get together (eventually when Angel Face learns how to pole vault) and practice some pole vaulting. Maybe Angel Face can teach Panda how to climb and swing on trees! I predict Panda would find that fun.
I never knew that Sweet Pea is a Build-a-Bear. Now that I look at the picture of Sweet Pea more closely, I recognize it from the workshop!
Warmly,
Adia ☮
@Mrs. Jacobs,
ReplyDeleteALOOOOHA!
Mahalo for your comment! (I think Mahalo means ''Thank you'' in Hawaiian. Am I correct?)
What a funny story about your class pet! You are such a humorous commenter. I have never heard of a dog as a class pet. If my mom was a teacher, she would say a big 'No, no' to dogs as a class pet.
Mahalo for complimenting Angel Face's Animoto. She worked very hard on it. Honestly, it took approximately forty-five minutes. :)
P.S: I am going to Maui, Hawaii soon, and it will be my second time. Do you have any advice for me? What island of Hawaii do you live in?
@ Mrs. B,
Thank you for leaving a well-written comment!
I think it is wonderful that you have a class mascot. What type of animal, insect, or reptile is it? When I was in first grade, we had two class mascots, and their names were Yogurt/Gogurt, two cows. (Obviously, they were stuffed animals.) Every weekend, a member of my class would receive Yogurt/Gogurt, record it in a class book, and would occasionally put on some sort of clothes for the cows. These cows were given so much love, that you could see the bacteria from miles away. It was very fun!
Do some of your students dress up Sebastian?
@ Aunt Juliet,
Thank you for babbling!
Wow, what a coincident that your niece has the exact same hobbies as Angel Face. (Hmm... I wonder why?)
Angel Face does happen to have the same characteristics as your niece. She is caring, compassionate, intelligent, and a great monkey. (I wonder if they are by any chance related to each other?)
I'm sure that your niece would highly appreciate your heart-felt compliments.
Thanks again!
Warmly,
Adia
Aloha Adia,
ReplyDeleteYes, mahalo does mean thank you. If you are very appreciative you can say "mahalo nui loa."
I do love my dogs, both the stuffed ones and the real ones. I have fourteen year old springer named Fanny who's interested in sleeping, eating, and walking.
You will love Maui! Would you believe I have been there a dozen times. To me, it is magical. The water is bluer, the sun is brighter, and the beaches are wonderful.
A hui hou, (until we meet again)
Mrs. Jacobs
Dear Adia,
ReplyDeleteI love your new mascot she is so cute and for reading all about her she sure does get up to alot of activities.
Am looking forward to reading all about her up and coming adventures on your blog.

Dear Adia,
ReplyDeleteI loved Angel face! I especially like the picture in the slide show when he was a black belt.
Angel face reminds me of my grandma's name pary because her name means Angel face in farsi.

Dear Angel Face,
ReplyDeleteI love meeting new mascots! Hello! My name is Mr. CA! I'm from Jaden's Awesome blog! Hopefully we could meet each other in real life one day. I think you should ask Adia to let you be a guest blogger. Jaden let me do the introductory to myself. I'm going to send a comment to my friend Mr. NY tonight to tell him about you.
From,
Mr. CA
Dear Amitai,*****
ReplyDeleteThank you for your compliment about me! I agree, the best picture is me in my black belt. KEEY-AH! (Sorry, I'm in the middle of practicing for my one-millionth degree black belt test that is coming up this summer. :))
I never knew that "Pari" means Angel Face in Farsi! Good to know!
~Angel Face
Dear Mr. California,
ReplyDeleteHi! :) I'm Angel Face!
First, I would like to congratulate you for winning a game in your CBBL against the Chippets! You sure deserve the MVP!
Anyway, I agree. Hopefully, we will meet each other in real life one day. That would be fun! Though I'm a girl, maybe you can teach me how to do some of those basketball tricks, Mr. California! (If we actually do meet each other.)
Someday I will ask Adia to let me be a guest blogger! I wonder what I should post about. Hmm... what do you think? That just gave me a great idea! Maybe I can have a voting poll to see what I should post about!
Now I'm going to leave a comment to my friend Bunny, from Grace on the Go to tell her about you. Wow, will she be impressed!
Keep up the good work!

Dear Adia,
ReplyDeleteI liked your post about Angel Face.
That video was interesting, vand she must of liked the hobbies if she's good with them. I have two questions about the angel. What kind of friends does she have? What is her favorite food?
From,
Ben
Dear Adia,
ReplyDeleteI love your new mascot because it is so cute. :-) I created a Build-a-Bear. It is called a Coconut bear, she is wearing a Rainbow dress and sunglasses. Her name is Krissy, short for Kristen which is my name. Sadly, I only have one Build-a-Bear. :-(
How many Build-a-Bears do you have?
Your friend,
Kristen:-)
Dear Adia,
ReplyDeleteGreat post! Your blog mascot is so cute. I want a blog mascot for my blog and I am going to get one first I need to pick one out witch will be hard because I have a lot of stuffed animals. I am going to have a post about it very soon but I have a new one on it and I only got one comment. Angel face is one cute monkey. Is Angel Face a boy or a girl i'm guessing it is a girl. Bianca inspired me to get a blog mascot it looks fun to have one. You have a great blog I am looking forward to commenting on more of your magnificent posts. Keep up the good work! Happy Blogging!
Best Wishes,
Taylor :D
Dear Adia,
ReplyDeleteI think that the video is amazing. I think it is really cool how you made it look like Angel Face was really on the go with the roller blades. The whole entire video was cool it is just that it just stood out more than all of the others. I have a few questions for you. If Angel Face could have one animal friend who would it be, and how did you make that picture with Angel Face on the roller blades?
Sincerely,
Tyler D
P.S How many days of school do you have left? Our school has 16 and today is June 1.
Dear Ben,
ReplyDeleteThank you for complimenting on my post.
You're correct, Angel face does like the hobbies and she is great with them. For your next two questions, I have to ask Angel Face and will get back with you in a few seconds.
Angel Face's friends are Mr. CA, Popsicle, Bunny, Mr. NY, Leo, Krissy, Tristan, and Techno.
Her favorite food is angel-hair pasta because she love eating foods that have a part of her name in it! :)
Dear Kristen,
Thank you for your comment!
Your Build-A-Bear sound very cute also. When I read her ensemble and accessories, I'm like, AWWWWW!
I have only one Build-A-Bear also. So sad! It's okay, I'll make sure that my first visit to the Build-A-Bear shop will NOT be my last. So that means that in a lifetime, I will get over about 250 Build-A-Bears in all. Nice to meet you, Kristen, because that is how I do it. :)
Dear Taylor,
I appreciate your comment on my blog!
Whenever someone tells me or writes to me that they want a blog mascot, I always encourage them.
Don't worry, Taylor, about only one comment on your new post. I will post a comment on that post soon, so do NOT worry. :)
Your guess was correct! Angel face is a girl. Bravo!
Dear Tyler D.,
Thanks for your comment!
Tyler, I admire your vocabulary and idioms you wrote. For example, I liked how you said that my video stood out more than all the others and how you said it is really cool how I mad it look like Angel Face was really on the go with the roller blades.
If Angel Face could have one animal friend it would be a turtle named Lucky because Angel Face would be luck do have such an adorable friend.
Well, first of all, since I went to the Build-A-Bear Workshop I purchased roller blades in addition to the monkey and then my mom and I tied a string on Angel Face's leg and connected it to somewhere.
We have 0 days of school left. We're on summer break!
Thank you everybody!
Adia
